Flash Floods and Storm Water is Serious
Tokara is built on an incline sloping from North to South and from West to East. Units have been laid out in a fashion that allows for storm water to flow from one unit to the next until reaching the main storm water collection points. In the main road of Tokara there are 3 major storm water drains and on the eastern side of the complex is a storm water servitude with a storm water drain at the bottom of the complex.

During flash floods, water can build up very quickly and if it is not allowed to flow to the storm water drains as designed, the water can build up and cause havoc. It is thus very important to keep the path of the storm water clear and unobstructed. Problems as seen in the image below can cause major damages:

The result of the above blockage is what caused the build up of the water as captured in the video below.
A few years earlier walls were washed away and water overflowed into houses of a nearby security complex, very similar to Tokara. Water should never be allowed to build-up as the pressure of the water can easily cause garden walls to collapse. The result will be flooding of lower lying areas.
Always keep your yard clean of toys, bottles and bricks, and NEVER obstruct the storm water openings.

NEVER obstruct the storm water drain openings as this WILL cause flooding.
